Born on June 10, 1997, Joshua Wood is an American musician and singer-songwriter that primarily writes songs in Japanese. He developed an interest in music from an early age, and started playing guitar at the age of 7. Unfortunately he never got far past chords. He made his first recordings around 2005 with nothing but guitar and vocals. In 2011, he started experimenting with Mario Paint Composer for making music, then Rytmik Retrobits in 2012, then Famitracker in 2013. He made his first album in 2013, originally titled "NES Style, Vol. 1" (but due to copyright concerns over the NES trademark, upon its Spotify re-release in January 2021 it was renamed to "All Chipped Up"). For a few years after that, he continued making recordings using only guitar and vocals (though he later switched to playing bass guitar on June 22, 2014), then in 2016, his first vocal track to use an electronic instrumental track, "Bouken" (冒険) was released, which is an electronic remake of a previously acoustic track on his album "Boku no Honsho" (僕の本初), which was released earlier that year. In July 2017, he decided to buy a refurbished iMac solely for the purpose of using GarageBand, and in terms of playing music. His 2018 album "Atarashii Tabi" (新しい旅) is what he himself considers his music highlight to this very day. Since 2021, Joshua has been making the backing tracks of his music with GarageBand, then recording the real bass, guitar and vocals.
